REVIEW: The Sound of Music at Olney Theatre Center
OUR KIDS • NOVEMBER 28, 2011
The Olney Theater's production of "The Sound of Music" is a musical must for families with children six or above.
You've probably seen the movie, and perhaps have shown it to your children as well. The stage version focuses a bit less on storybook romance(s) and more on Captain Von Trapp's dilemma, but fret not - all the songs you love in the movie are here, along with three "new" ones that focus on the politics driving Captain Von Trapp's dilemma - accept the Anschluss and a place in the Nazi regime, or stand, perhaps alone, for Austria at risk of fortune and family.
