Summer Shakespeare Tour
Since 1990, Olney Theatre Center’s National Players has produced a summer Shakespeare tour, with the purpose of bringing plays of a classical nature to regional audiences in outdoor venues.
With the same dedication demonstrated by National Players tours, the Summer Shakespeare tour develops new appreciation for "the bard" by presenting classical dramas and comedies to families in a festival setting.
National Players’ Summer Shakespeare tour engages veterans actors of the annual tour and alumni and students of the Boston University Theatre Conservatory in a spirit of summer fun. This collaboration between seasoned and new talent reinvigorates Shakespeare's texts with new insight and new excitement.
The tour comes to Olney Theatre Center for FREE performances each summer:

Proteus loves Julia. Valentine loves Silvia. When Proteus meets Silvia, he falls for her too, and the heartbroken Julia sets out in pursuit. This delightful comedy of love lost and found offers lyrical poetry, outlaws, farce, and a most unreliable dog.

A very special thank you to the Montgomery County Humane Society for helping the 19th Annual Summer Shakespeare Festival find our Crab, "the most scene-stealing non-speaking role in the canon." For more information on the Humane Society and pet adoption, visit www.mchumane.org.
