Olney Theatre Center’s National Players Kicks Off Tour 64 With Romeo and Juliet

OLNEY, MD – July 31, 2012 –  Olney Theatre Center’s National Players begins its 64th national tour with two free outdoor performances of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet  on August 24 and 25 at 8:00pm on The Root Family Stage.  National Players, America’s longest-running touring company, has re-imagined and re-invigorated Shakespeare’s most enduring tale.

Established in 1949 and based at Olney Theatre Center since 1953, National Players is America's longest-running touring company. Founded on the principle of working with communities that have limited access to live theatre, National Players is comprised of professional young actors who travel across the country each year performing two plays in repertory- one Shakespeare and one additional classic.
