ABOUT THE SHOW
A tremendous tempest causes a shipwreck and scatters a cargo of noblemen across a mysterious island. Little do they know that Prospero, the banished Duke of Milan, is at the helm of all magic and mystery. In Shakespeare's last and most magical tale, fairies and spells unwind villains' desires, tie lovers together, and unknot past wrongs.
Shakespeare’s glorious tale of magical creatures, love and forgiveness on a faraway island is sure to captivate in our outdoor space, the Root Family Stage. In celebration of their 65th consecutive year of touring, we’ll be returning to an old format we’ve used in the past, in which National Players veterans compose half of the cast of this professional show, mentoring current National Players who take the younger roles. (Recommended for ages 8 and up)
This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. Art Works.
Approximately 2 hours 15 minutes including one intermission.
