Olney Theatre Center is unique in the nation's performing arts landscape.
With a rich history, diverse artistic programming, commitment to education, and four stages across a 14-acre campus, there is no other arts organization in the country quite like Olney Theatre. But in order to sustain Olney as a home for world-class theatre performance and education, our campus requires significant renovations. Updated spaces are essential to provide a venue for the nation’s leading artists and technicians and to train the next generation of arts leaders.
At the completion of Staging the Future, three of our four stages will be revitalized, including our beloved 1938 Original Theatre, the flexible black box Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab, and the Root Family Outdoor Stage at Omi’s Pavilion. We’ll also construct a state-of-the-art technical center to house our production shops, build a new education wing with offices, classrooms, and an additional rehearsal studio, and make critical improvements to public amenities that will enrich the patron and community experience.
