Programs Cost $2 Each at Performances
For the 2023-2024 Season, Olney Theatre Center will be offering programs for purchase rather than as a complimentary item at performances.
Do I Get Anything For Free?
All audience members will receive a one-sheet with the cast list and production credits, along with a QR code to view the full playbill online. An archive of our past digital programs online is available here:
How Do I Buy a Program?
The cost of programs will be $2/$1 for those under 25 years old and can be reserved ahead of time either while purchasing tickets or before your performance. Olney Theatre Center Members and K-12 students will continue to receive complementary programs.
Why Are You Doing This?
Following the pandemic we experimented with having programs available online only – for the sake of safety, to lower our environmental impact, and to save expenses at a time of great financial vulnerability. While many people accessed and enjoyed the virtual programs, a significant portion of our audience missed the physical edition and strongly requested that we bring them back. In the meantime, the average cost of producing programs had increased over 80% since prior to the shutdown. Producing fewer programs and asking patrons to take one per party also seemed to satisfy no one as a solution. We arrived at the current arrangement as a way to defray some of the expenses, while still providing value to our members, providing an important keepsake for young theatre-goers, and making sure all content would be available for free online.
I’m A Member, Do I Need to Do Anything?
Programs will be sold via our concessions counter in the lobby. Just show them your member ticket entitling you to a complimentary program. Donors at the $100 level and up just need to show their Donor Card.
What If I Lose My Voucher for a Program?
Our staff will have a list of everyone who pre-purchased a program.
