Olney Theatre Center Summer Audition Studio is for students in grades 10-12 (rising), who are interested in pursuing theatre in college and beyond. With one-on-one coaching and group training, students will build their audition repertoire, by choosing and working on monologues, songs, and dances. They will learn the tips and tricks to succeed in auditioning for their high school musical, college admission, or the local regional theatre whether the audition is in person in front of a crowd or as a self-tape online. At the end of the two-week session, students will perform a monologue of their choice along with ensemble dances and duets to showcase their skills and talent on Friday, August 15 at 1:30pm.
In order for us to get a sense of everyone’s starting point, we ask students to come in with a monologue and solo song of their choosing to be performed on the first day. It can be a monologue from their favorite play or TV show, a song from a musical, or the latest favorite pop song
Location
Summer Audition Studio will take place in the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab. The final presentation for friends and family will take place in the same location at 1:30pm on August 15.
