If you loved Singin’ in the Rain, have we got a treat for you. Two of our favorite artists joined forces to create a video that will charm and delight you in four-part harmony. It’s the kind of magic we need in this time of social distancing.
Jacob Scott Tischler wrote and performed all four parts of a sweet love song, “Captured My Heart,” and his routine is choreographed by director Marcos Santana, whose In The Heights won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Musical and who directed Jacob in a Helen Hayes-nominated performance as Cosmo in Olney Theatre’s Singin’ in the Rain just a few months back.
When we talk about “unleashing the creativity of our artists and audiences” this is what we mean. It’s something entirely new that borrows a sound from years past to deliver a completely original and modern performance. Jacob and Marcos' spirit of invention and resourcefulness to keep creating even when stuck at home, inspire us to keep moving Olney Onward!
But unlike Jacob, we actually need you to sing along . . . so to speak. If you’re able, please make a gift to the Olney Onward! Fund so that when this crisis passes, we emerge on-tune and dancing.
And please enjoy the video. We bet Jacob and Marcos capture your heart!
