Staging the Future: The multi-year campaign to transform Olney Theatre Center for the Arts
The State of Maryland just announced an $11 million grant to Olney Theatre Center’s “Staging the Future'' Capital Campaign! This grant brings the State’s total investment in the project to $15.5 million.
With this extraordinary support from our State, Olney Theatre Center is moving forward with plans to make essential improvements to the artist and patron experience by renovating the 1938 Original Theatre, expanding the theatre’s production and educational spaces, and enhancing the Root Family Outdoor Stage.
State Senator Craig Zucker commented, “The investment in Olney Theatre Center’s capital campaign demonstrates the state’s commitment to Maryland’s Official Summer Theatre, a cultural treasure that emanates great State pride.”
