For the first time ever, Olney Theatre-favorite Michael Russotto (The Amateurs, Singin’ in the Rain, The Diary of Anne Frank) steps into the legendary shoes of Paul Morella to star in this year's edition of Paul's celebrated solo adaptation of A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas. Unlike other Carols, this version stays truest to Dickens' original vision of a singular storyteller and employs his original text for 99% of its action. Come see Michael Russotto portray over 50 characters, from the miserly Scrooge to the haunting spirits, to the entire Cratchit family, including, of course, Tiny Tim. God bless us, everyone! A Christmas Carol plays on.
Due to a medical event earlier this year, Paul is unable to perform in this season’s run of A Christmas Carol. He and his family are thrilled that Michael Russotto has agreed to step in and keep the tradition alive. Paul and Michael have acted in numerous productions together over the years, including several at Olney Theatre including The Crucible, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Rancho Mirage. We wish Paul a speedy recovery and look forward to his return in 2025.
