Terrence Griffin (Joey) is happy to be making his professional theatre debut. He is a DMV-based artist with a background in acting, directing, and writing. Tyrell Williams (Playwright) is an award-winning writer and director for theatre, film and television. His debut play Red Pitch, about brotherhood and gentrification, transferred to the West End in Spring 2024 to rave reviews and standing ovations, after selling out two runs at the Bush Theatre in 2022 and 2023. With the play, he became the first ever writer to win all five of the UK’s major debut writing awards, including the Evening Standard, George Devine, Stage, Off West End, and Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards. He is currently under commission to Eleanor Lloyd Productions for his next play, and on attachment to the National Theatre. His first foray into screen was co-creating, co-writing and directing the web series #HoodDocumentary with Kayode Ewumi. When it went viral, getting over 4 million views on YouTube, the BBC3/Fudge Park commissioned them to make a 6x5’ comedy series. He wrote an episode for Taika Waititi/Jemaine Clement/Iain Morris’ Time Bandits remake (Apple/Paramount) that critics have called “standout”. He is also adapting Red Pitch for screen and written an episode on a brand new channel four comedy. Tyrell’s been named one of Deadline’s 5 rising writers to watch in 2023, is a BAFTA Elevate graduate (2018) and was a Broadcast Hotshot (2016). Instagram: @tywilliam14

Daniel Bailey (Original Director) is a director for stage and screen, a dramaturg, and a writer. He was formerly Associate Artistic Director at the Bush Theatre, London. Prior to that he was Associate Director at Birmingham Rep Theatre, after initially joining as Assistant Director as part of the Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme and then working as Artistic Director of the New & Nurtured Season 2017–2018. He made his West End debut in 2024 with the award-winning Red Pitch, which he originally directed at the Bush (2022 and 2023), and for which he received The Stage Debut Award for Best Creative West End Debut. Other roles include Associate Artist at Theatre Royal Stratford East, Resident Director at the National Theatre Studio, Resident Assistant Director at The Finborough Theatre, and Artistic Director of New Heritage Theatre. Daniel reads for Talawa, Soho, the Verity Bargate Awards, Bruntwood, and Birmingham Rep and Alfred Fagon Awards. Other directing work at the Bush Theatre includes Beru Tessema’s Wolves On Road (2024), Lenny Henry’s August In England (co-directed with Lynette Linton, 2023), and Temi Wilkey’s The High Table (Stage Debut Award winner 2020). Other Directing credits include The Boy With Wings adapted by Arvind Ethan David from the book by Lenny Henry (Polka Theatre); I Wonder If (Young Vic Theatre); Blue Orange; Concubine; Stuff; I Knew You; Abuelo, Jump! Nadir Bey (Scenic Designer) is happy to be back at Olney Theatre Center as a Scenic Designer and Artist. After receiving his BFA in Design at University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), he was a design fellow at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY, and a Kenan fellow at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.Previous Olney Theatre Center Credit includes The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Amith Chandrashaker (Lighting Designer) is a Tony Nominated Lighting Designer who works in Theater, Opera, and Dance. His credits include Broadway: Prayer for the French Republic (Tony Nom.), Merrily we Roll Along, and Purpose. Off Broadway: The Public, Playwrights Horizons, NYTW, The Atlantic, and The Signature. Regional Theaters: Second Stage, Manhattan Theater Club, Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare, The Geffen, and The Huntington. Opera: The Glimmerglass Festival, Houston Grand Opera, and Washington National Opera. Dance: Staatstheater Nuremberg, The Lyon Opera Ballet, The Royal Ballet of New Zealand, The Joyce, and The National Dance Company of Wales. He is the recipient of The Drama Desk and Henry Hewes awards; Union Trustee for United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE; MFA, NYU Tisch School of the Arts and faculty at The University of Maryland’s School for Theatre Dance and Performance Studies.

Jeannette Christensen (Costume Designer) is a Baltimore-based costume designer with notable credits including the Broadway national tour and the Spanish world premiere at GALA Hispanic Theatre (Helen Hayes Award) of On Your Feet!. National tours include: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, Show Way The Musical, and Look Both Ways: A Tale Told in Ten Blocks at The Kennedy Center TYA. Regional work includes: Wolf at the Door and Tribes at American Players Theatre; The Thanksgiving Play at Oklahoma City Repertory Theater; The Last Five Years at Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival; Romeo and Juliet at Folger Theatre; and The Brothers Paranormal at Olney Theatre Center. Christensen has also worked as an associate designer with The Muny, Round House Theatre, Wolf Trap Opera, and Studio Theatre. As an educator, she has taught at the University of Maryland, University of the Arts, and George Washington University. DJ Potts (Sound Designer)

Malcolm Harris (Soccer Consultant) has been on staff with Liverpool FC International Academy Maryland since 2021 and currently serves as coach of the U16 National Academy League boys’ team. Harris, who has dual citizenship in the United States and Jamaica, served three years as an assistant coach at Archbishop Spalding High School and serves as the Camp Director for SAM Soccer, the official soccer club of the Maryland SoccerPlex. As a player, Harris played professionally for five seasons with the Harrisburg Heat of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). He made 108 appearances and totaled 97 points with 46 goals and 51 assists as well as 52 block shots as a midfielder. He was also named to the MASL All-Rookie Team as an honorable mention selection in 2020. Harris played in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, the oldest soccer tournament in America, twice in 2019 and 2024. Harris is the founder and CEO of Project 77 whose mission is to use soccer as a tool for personal growth, opportunity, and transformation.

Rachel Harrison (Production Stage Manager) is pleased to make her OLNEY THEATRE CENTER debut with RED PITCH.  As a multi-disciplinary theatre artist, her work across the country includes an impressive 56 productions with Tampa Bay area theatres: American Stage, Tampa Repertory Theatre, StageWorks Theatre, Urbanite Theatre, and Broadway on the Bay, where she includes among her favorites Two Trains Running, The Royale, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, Jitney, Dyke, A Raisin in the Sun, Pipeline, Silent Sky, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, Vietgone, and Skeleton Crew. Rachel has worked aboard Virgin Voyages cruise fleet as a Production Stage Manager and briefly served as an Associate Artistic Producer and the General Manager for American Stage, and as "chief problem solver” for Your Real Stories Inc., a multi-media storytelling company talking across differences through theatrical journalism. Rachel is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Stage Managers’ Association.

Jaylen Dews (Assistant Stage Manager) is very excited to be doing his first show at Olney! Theatre credits include REGIONAL: Signature Theatre: The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S. Oguchi Onyewu is U.S. Soccer’s Vice President of Sporting. He is tasked with assisting in growing the competitiveness of all 27 national teams as well as aiding in efforts to increase participation and diversity throughout the soccer landscape at every level. Prior to joining U.S. Soccer, Oguchi was Sporting Director of Orlando City B and Secretary General of R.E. Virton in Belgium. A former member of the U.S. Men’s National Team, Oguchi spent more than 10 years as a U.S. mainstay in defense, staring in both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. Oguchi enjoyed a 15-year professional career in Europe playing for world-class teams such as Newcastle United (England), AC Milan (Italy), Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), and Malaga CF (Spain).

A Nigerian-American born and raised in the Washington D.C. area, Oguchi holds a dual B.A. in Language (French) and International Business from Clemson University, a USSF B Coaching License, and a number of professional certifications. Oguchi speaks three languages (English, French, and Spanish), and is passionate about continued education and aiding youth to achieve their highest potential.

Bruce Murray is an inductee of the US Soccer Hall of Fame, Class of 2011.  As a US Soccer National Team player Bruce scored 21 goals in 85 appearances, also scoring and assisting goals in the 1990 World Cup. Bruce also represented the United States in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Before Murray's professional soccer career he won 2 National Championships with Clemson and was awarded the Hermann Trophy as college soccer's best player. As a soccer coach, Bruce holds USSF B license and has led multiple youth teams to National Championships. He is recognized nationally as a player development coaching soccer. Bruce has coached many youths that have gone on to play soccer professionally. Cole Seiler (Georgetown U/Montreal Impact), Charlie Davies (USMNT), and Kyle Fisher (Clemson/Portland Timbers) are to name a few. When Bruce is not coaching at BMSA he is the Director of Athletics at Accelerator School DC Metro and is the Chief Scout for Bethesda Soccer.

 

Hamisi Amani-Dove loves competition and the challenge it presents to always play at the top of his game. A graduate of Rutgers University, sixth all-time scoring leader at the university with thirty-two goals in seventy-two games, he was a member of the 1996 Summer Olympics U.S. Men’s Soccer team, and traveled the world as a professional soccer player in the Netherlands, Austria, and the United States. He was inducted into the Maryland Soccer Legends Hall of Fame in 2017. Once retired from the sport, he turned that same winning drive to advance his business career, where he discovered a specific interest in and talent for business development and interpersonal sales engagement. Hamisi lives in Maryland with his two equally athletic children and their menagerie of pets, including a chameleon named Kiwi and two scorpions named Cairo and Egypt.
