Winner of all five Off-West End Awards for Best New Play
Bilal, Joey, and Omz have been boys their whole lives, growing up together playing soccer on their small pitch outside their south London apartments. But change is coming. Professional teams are signing up prospects, and they all harbor dreams to be chosen. Moreover, the neighborhood is changing, with lots of new apartments and franchise coffee shops pushing out longtime residents and local favorites. Can their friendship survive the threatened demise of their beloved “red pitch” and all it represents? This engrossing new play was such a hit in its initial run at London’s Bush Theatre (the same theatre that premiered Sleepova) that it earned a West End transfer, playing to critical and popular acclaim.

To deepen the connection between the production and America’s growing passion for “the beautiful game,” Olney Theatre has engaged a trio of soccer legends with local ties to serve as production ambassadors. We are grateful for their assistance.
Because Red Pitch features three soccer-obsessed 16-year-old characters from South London, we have created a glossary of soccer and slang terms you may not be familiar with to help you enjoy the show. If you don't deep when someone's capping about their tekkers being better than Mbappe's, then you might want to give it a look.
Put on your favorite soccer jersey when you come to see Red Pitch and receive 25% off your first drink at concessions!
Red Pitch is performed "Alley-Style," meaning that the audience is on two sides of the playing area. This allows for an even more intimate experience of the drama on stage; however, patrons should be aware that those exiting the theatre during the action may not be re-admitted to minimize distractions for the actors. Admission to the theatre following the beginning of the play is always at the discretion of the House Managers in coordination with the Stage Manager.
